The Atlanta Braves have been playing baseball in the city of Atlanta since 1966. Before that the team was based in Boston from 1871-1952 and then called Milwaukee home from 1953-1965. This franchise is one of two original charter members of the National League along with the Chicago Cubs. Atlanta Brave fans can follow their favorite team at home during the regular season and can buy Braves tickets using the button provided on this website. The proceeds from Atlanta Braves tickets bought in this manner contribute to a wonderful charity called the Charro Foundation.

The Charro Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which supports the community, students, schools and educators in a variety of ways. This organization develops and supports programs that educate, inform and improve the quality of life of the community at large.

Several Hall of Fame players have played for the Braves and include Hank Aaron and Phil Niekro, Warren Spahn, Eddie Matthews, Hugh Duffy and Kid Nichols. Many of these ballplayers contributed to the overall team success of the franchise, helping to deliver seventeen National League pennants and three World Series titles during their careers with the Braves. The team has also captured five National League West division titles and eleven NL East titles.

In 1948 the Boston Braves won the NL pennant behind the pitching of Warren Spahn and Johnny Sain. The rest of the pitching rotation was mediocre and in September, Boston Post writer Gerald Hern wrote this poem about the duo:

First we’ll use Spahn
then we’ll use Sain
Then an off day
Followed by rain
Back will come Spahn
Followed by Sain
And followed we hope
By two days of rain

In the late nineties Cy Young Award winners Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine appeared in a Nike commercial called “Chicks Dig the Long Ball”, a great example of the regular and post-season success of the Atlanta Braves leading to a higher level of exposure in the media. Of course, it’s the Braves on-the-field success that is most important to die hard fans.

Today the Atlanta Braves make their regular season home at Turner Field.
