There may not be a more beloved team in Major League Baseball than the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs do possess a die-hard legion of fans that stretch to every corner of the country. One reason for this near rabid obsession by Cubs fans is the franchise has existed for over 140 years. Another reason is the fact Chicago fans really stand behind their teams. Baseball is part of Chicago’s rich heritage. The Cubs have a nickname, “The Lovable Losers” so named because the team has not won a World Series title in over 100 years.

The Chicago Cubs played their first baseball games in 1870. The team had been called the White Stockings, Colts and Orphans until the Chicago Cubs name was born in 1903. Three years later the Cubs advanced to their first World Series, the following year the Cubs won its first World Series title and repeated the feat in 1908. The Chicago Cubs became the first baseball team to play in the World Series three straight years. Unfortunately the franchise now holds the distinction of being the team to suffer the longest championship drought by any North American sports team.

Still, this does not stop Chicago Cubs fans from packing the stadium during spring training and the regular season. Cub tickets are indeed a hot commodity year-round. Purchasing Cubs tickets on this site also supports the Charro Foundation and their many charitable activities. The Charro Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which works to strengthen the quality of education in the community and create opportunities for both high-school students and teachers in order to improve the community.

During its history the Cubbies have won two National League East division titles, three NL Central division titles, sixteen National League pennants and two World Series titles. Several Hall of Fame baseball players played for the Cubs including Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins and Ryne Sandberg.
