Houston Astros Tickets
The Houston Astros were the first Major League Baseball team to call Texas home. They played their first ballgame in 1962 as the Houston Colt .45s. The team kept that name and played at Colt Stadium from 1962 until1964.
The franchise moved to the Astrodome in 1965. This stadium was a state-of-the-art facility and was the first domed stadium in the world. The Astrodome was named in honor of the nation’s space program and inspired the team to change its name to the Houston Astros. Baseball was played at the Astrodome until 1999 with the franchise winning the National League West twice and the NL Central three times during its time there.
The Astros moved to their current home, Minute Maid Park in 2000. The stadium was originally named Enron Field but Minute Maid acquired the naming rights in 2002. Since moving to its new home the Houston Astros have captured one National League Central division title in 2001 and two wild card berths in 2004 and 2005. The 2004 squad advanced all the way to National League Championship Series before being defeated by division rival the St. Louis Cardinals. The 2005 NLCS was a rematch with the Houston Astros turning the tables on the Cardinals to advance to its first and as of 2011 only World Series appearance. The Astros lost in four games to the Chicago White Sox.
